Project Spotlight | Hornsby Heights

For this blog post, Binai Construction takes a different approach to highlight our recent accomplishment - the completion of The Hornsby Heights Project. This beautiful family home is situated in Sydney's Upper North Shore and was designed with one goal in mind: creating a well-utilised, intentional place where everyone can feel at home. And that’s precisely what we achieved!

Starting with the floor plan, here is the side-by-side of the before and after. We knew reconfiguring the space was crucial in utilising what was available and yielding more bedrooms while creating an organic flow in the layout. As a large family, the clients expressed the need to have an open floor plan within the common spaces for entertainment and quality time, yet private retreating quarters of the home for work and studying.

Throughout the home, we injected a modern aesthetic by adding warm sand oak floating floorboards and fresh coats of antique white paint, creating an eye-catching contrast against the bright white skirting boards.

One of the most remarkable qualities of this newly renovated home is its interconnected living, dining and kitchen area with a sleek outdoor patio. The space has been flooded with natural light due to the removal of all dividing walls and the installation of an expansive stacking door.

The kitchen has been extended in size, with sleek appliances and captivating stone splashbacks that complement the stunning waterfall benchtops. We created a new powder room, which is connected to the laundry and opens up into an outdoor space. This area has been perfectly designed for all of your household needs in just one spot.

To maximize natural light and create plenty of space, we designed a long corridor that separated the home into two sections. Our main objective for each bedroom was to provide it with plentiful storage solutions while simultaneously allowing enough room for restful sleep and studying. This is especially beneficial for larger families as we were able to add an extra bedroom beyond what the original floor plan required!

Finally, over to the master bedroom, we transformed the existing rumpus room into a luxurious master bedroom with an impressive walk-in wardrobe and refreshed en suite. This area was given a complete makeover resulting in a truly stunning - creating a spacious retreat for restful sleep and relaxation, with gorgeous natural light any time of the day.
